Patliputra University (PPU), Patna, has officially announced the commencement of its admission process for regular Postgraduate (PG) courses for the academic session 2025–27. Online applications for PG programmes such as MA, MSc, and MCom under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) are open from 13 July to 28 July 2025. Admission to these courses will be merit-based, determined by marks obtained in the qualifying undergraduate examinations.
As per the university notification, the first merit list will be released on 1 August 2025, and students selected in this list must complete the admission process by 7 August 2025. The document verification for these candidates will be held on 8 August 2025. The second and third merit lists are scheduled to be published on 11 and 18 August 2025, respectively, with admissions and verification to be concluded by 22 August 2025. Notably, classes for the new academic session are slated to begin from 22 August 2025.
The application fee for regular PG courses is ₹800 for General/BC-I/BC-II candidates and ₹600 for SC/ST applicants. The university has also announced that self-financed PG programmes such as MBA, MCA, MSc (Biotech), and others will have a separate admission window from 13 August to 29 August 2025. However, the merit list cycle for both regular and self-financed courses will remain the same.
The entire application process is online through the official university portal. Applicants are advised to keep all required documents—mark sheets, caste certificates, passport-sized photographs, and valid IDs—ready before filling out the form.
