In a pioneering move to advance artificial intelligence education in India, IIT Roorkee has announced a new Post Graduate Certificate Program in AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Machine Learning. Launched in collaboration with upskilling platform Futurense Technologies, the program is being hailed as the country’s first IIT-certified course to focus explicitly on Agentic AI—an emerging field that enables AI agents to act autonomously and interact intelligently with their environment.

Designed as an 11-month comprehensive certification, the program is tailored for engineering and technical professionals. With no mandatory coding requirement, it offers accessibility to a wider range of learners while maintaining an advanced academic rigor. The curriculum covers a wide spectrum of cutting-edge topics including deep learning, neural networks, generative AI, and real-world agentic AI applications. Participants will engage in more than 15 industry-aligned projects and have the option to attend an immersive campus experience at IIT Roorkee.

This initiative aligns with India’s increasing demand for skilled AI professionals, particularly in the rapidly evolving domains of generative and autonomous technologies. The program is structured to offer a mix of live virtual classes, recorded sessions, hands-on projects, and mentorship by industry experts and IIT Roorkee faculty. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical tools and industry case studies, it aims to empower learners to build AI solutions across sectors.

Applications for the course are now open, and candidates with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply. The program represents a significant step toward democratizing advanced AI education in India, making high-quality IIT credentials accessible to working professionals without traditional coding backgrounds.
