New Delhi, July 21, 2025 – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results for the UGC-NET June 2025 examination, a pivotal assessment for candidates seeking academic and research opportunities in India. Conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode across 85 subjects, the examination took place from June 30 to July 29, 2025, in 10 shifts across 285 cities, accommodating 10,19,761 registered candidates. The UGC-NET June 2025 examination saw robust participation, reflecting its significance in higher education. The demographic breakdown of registered candidates is as follows:

  • Female Candidates: 67.54% of the total, approximately 6,88,736 candidates (calculated based on the total registered candidates).
  • Male Candidates: 42.02%, approximately 4,25,853 candidates (as specified in the press release).
  • Third Gender Candidates: 10.01%, roughly 1,02,078 candidates (derived from the total).
  • Total Registered Candidates: 10,19,761.

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor: 4,369 candidates qualified, enabling them to pursue research funding and teaching positions at universities.
  • Assistant Professor and Ph.D. Admission: 64,885 candidates qualified, making them eligible for teaching roles and enrollment in doctoral programs.
  • Ph.D. Admission Only: 28,179 candidates qualified exclusively for admission to Ph.D. programs.

These results highlight the competitive nature of the examination, with only a small fraction of candidates securing eligibility for the prestigious JRF and Assistant Professor roles.

Examination and Result Processing

The UGC-NET June 2025 was conducted seamlessly across 285 cities, ensuring accessibility for candidates nationwide.
