BSF Recruitment 2025: 3,588 Vacancies Announced for Constable Tradesman Posts

The Border Security Force (BSF) has officially released the notification for the recruitment of 3,588 Constable (Tradesman) posts across India. The online application process will commence from July 26, 2025, and continue until August 24, 2025, through the official recruitment portal rectt.bsf.gov.in. Of the total vacancies, 3,406 posts are for male candidates, and 182 posts are reserved for female candidates.

Candidates interested in applying must be Indian citizens and meet the age criteria of 18 to 25 years as of August 24, 2025. Relaxations in age will be applicable as per government norms for reserved categories. The minimum educational qualification required is Matriculation (Class 10 pass) along with ITI certification or relevant trade experience, depending on the post applied for.

The selection process will include Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a written examination, trade test, and finally medical examination. For the PET, male candidates must complete a 5 km run in 24 minutes, while female candidates will be required to run 1.6 km in 8 minutes 30 seconds. The written exam will be objective in nature, covering General Knowledge, Reasoning, Elementary Maths, and English or Hindi.

Vacancies are available across various trades including Cook, Sweeper, Washerman, Barber, Waiter, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Carpenter, Painter, Electrician, and more. The recruitment offers a pay scale of ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 under Pay Matrix Level 3, along with applicable allowances as per BSF norms.

The application fee is ₹100 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, and female candidates are exempted. The application process is completely online and includes registration, document upload, and fee payment. Interested candidates are advised to keep all required documents such as ID proof, educational certificates, domicile, and trade experience proof ready before applying.
