In a major step towards strengthening education and employability, the Bihar Education Department has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with five organisations to launch a series of academic, skill-based, and career-oriented programs for students across the state.
The initiatives include:
- Free Online Coaching for JEE/NEET – Students from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and Simultala Vidyalaya in Classes IX–XII will receive no-cost preparation for competitive exams.
- Scholarship Exam Support – Focused guidance for Class VIII students, particularly from rural backgrounds, to prepare for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS).
- English Proficiency Program – A structured module to improve communication and comprehension skills.
- Life Skills & Entrepreneurship Lessons – A bi-weekly curriculum for Classes VII–XII covering life skills, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship fundamentals.
- Job-Oriented Training for Graduates – A 30-day course for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students, aimed at achieving at least a 70% success rate in employment, entrepreneurship, or higher studies.
Education Minister Sunil Kumar said the collaboration is designed to bring “innovation, technology, and measurable outcomes” to the state’s education system, with regular monitoring to ensure tangible benefits.
Additional Chief Secretary S. Siddharth highlighted the potential of partnerships with NGOs and philanthropic groups to enhance innovation, quality, and reach in Bihar’s education sector. Education Department Secretary Ajay Yadav added that these alliances will help roll out practical, impactful initiatives quickly.
By covering students from middle school to post-graduation, the move reflects Bihar’s commitment to creating an inclusive, future-ready, and skill-driven education system.
