Prasar Bharati Launches ‘Creator’s Corner’ on DD News to Empower Digital Creators

Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has officially launched a new initiative called “Creator’s Corner” on DD News, aimed at providing a national platform for emerging digital content creators from across India.

The programme, set to air in a 30-minute prime-time slot from Monday to Friday at 7:00 PM with repeat telecasts at 9:30 AM the following day, will showcase short-form videos and reels produced by independent creators. Each episode will feature four to six curated clips covering themes such as culture, travel, cuisine, education, health, science, entertainment and more.

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw said the launch of Creator’s Corner reflects Prasar Bharati’s efforts to modernise public broadcasting and align it with the fast-growing creator economy. He highlighted that digital creators will be given full on-screen credit for their work and that the initiative marks an important step in integrating traditional media with new media talent.

The programme will operate under a revenue-sharing model, with creators receiving a majority share of income generated from broadcast, and the platform will eventually expand to other Doordarshan channels and digital platforms to reach wider and regional audiences.

This initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to strengthen India’s creator economy and support digital talent from diverse backgrounds.
