Bihar Government Allocates ₹68,216 Crore for Education in 2026–27 Budget

In its largest-ever annual budget, the Bihar government has allocated a record ₹68,216 crore to the education sector for the financial year 2026–27, aiming to transform the state’s academic landscape from primary schooling to higher education. This marks the highest share of state spending compared with other departments, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving learning outcomes, infrastructure, and educational access.

The budget was presented by Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav in the Bihar Legislative Assembly as part of a ₹3.47 lakh crore fiscal plan for the upcoming year — the largest in the state’s history.

 Teacher Recruitment and Wages
